73James Harukichi Mekaru, 82, of Honolulu died at home. He was born in Osaka, Japan. He is survived by wife Yasuko, sons John and Jay, daughters Mary-Ann Mekaru and Kathleen Takenami, stepdaughter Yonemi Kobashigawa, sister Tsuruku and six grandchildren. Visitation: noon Friday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services: 1 p.m. Casual attire.
