ROCCO R. FRANCESCO
ROCCO R. FRANCESCO Rocco R. Francesco a ten year resident of College Place, WA and formerly of Mililani, HI and St. Johnsville, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 13, 2014. Rocky was born April 1, 1930 in Detroit, MI. Rocky grew up in St. Johnsville, NY and in 1950 joined the U.S. Air Force. While stationed at Hickam AFB, HI Rocky met and married his sweetheart Martha Victor. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Rocky and Martha moved to St. Johnsville, NY where Rocky earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education at Vassar College starting a long and rewarding career as an educator in Ilion, NY. Before Rocky continued his teaching career in Hawaii, he earned his Master's Degree at Oneonta State University. After moving to Hawaii, Rocky first taught at Kapalama Elementary in Honolulu and later at Kipapa Elementary in Mililani where he would retire after a very distinguished career of nearly 30 total years of teaching. He is preceded in death by his infant son Jon Francesco, wife Martha Francesco, his parents Mary and Giovanni Francesco and his siblings Gilda Bussone, Palmena Slaughter, Larry Francisco, and his son-in-law Valentine Santarone. Rocky is survived by his children Ronald Francesco of Waitsburg, WA, Darlene Makaena of Mt. View, HI, Desiree McKillip (Marshall) of Honolulu, HI, Kevin Francesco (Karen) of North Pole, AK, and John Francesco of College Place, WA. Rocky is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Private services were held at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, Walla Walla, WA.
