Manabu "Mana" Hongo, 90, of Haleiwa, former owner of 50th State Greeters, part owner of Hongo Nursery and an Army veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II, died in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Helen H.; daughters Roxanne H. Iglesia, Catherine F. Nakamura and Janice H. Avellana; brother Masanori; sister Miyoko Oe; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Private services. No monetary offerings.
