Joseph Furtado "Joe" Mendonsa Jr., 89, of Aiea, a retired battalion chief for the Naval Federal Fire Department and an Army veteran, died in Aiea. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Joseph F. III and Rodney; daughters Sandra Mariani, JoAnn Vinta, Terri Gearon and Sheree Espinueva; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
