John Nehemia Kaina Jr., 49, of Kaneohe, a retired Hawaii Army National Guard sergeant and a Star Com Construction Co. painter, died in Kaneohe. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by hanai daughter Maka, hanai son Alii, mother Barbara, sister Jonnetta Peters and hanai brother Randy Lum. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hale Honu Building, Hale Koa Beach Campsite. Scattering of ashes: 2 p.m. Casual attire. Lei and loose flowers welcome.
