FRANCES KAMELA DENIZ
$nameFRANCES KAMELA DENIZ Frances Kamela Deniz, of Honaunau, Hawaii passed away on Friday, December 5 at Kona Community Hospital at the age of 84. She was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii on April 16, 1930. She was a home- maker, worked at the Kona Coast Macadamia Nut and Candy Factory as a mac nut sorter and candy maker, and she was also a member of Kahikolu Congregational Church. Frances was known in the Kona community for her kind and pleasant demeanor, always willing to share her knowledge of Hawaiian and family history with others. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry Deniz Sr. Services to commemorate her life will be held at Kahikolu Congregational Church in Napo'opo'o on Sunday, December 14th. The family will be available to receive condolences at 2:30 with the service beginning at 3:00. A private family gravesite service will follow at the church cemetery. The family requests that casual or aloha attire be worn. Flowers are welcome. She is survived by her sons, Henry (Jeanne) Deniz Jr. of Honaunau, HI, Edward (Celeste) Deniz of Honaunau, HI, Michael (Debra) Deniz of Honaunau, HI, Stephen (Cindy) Deniz of Honaunau, HI, Clement (Claudia) Deniz of Honaunau, HI, Harold (Ren'e) Deniz of Honaunau, HI, Francis (Lisa) Deniz of Haleiwa, HI. Her daughters, Lily Anne (Stratton) Souza of Kailua-Kona, HI and Emma (Keven) Yamaguchi of Honaunau, HI. Her brothers, Edward "Sonny" Chang of Lana'i City, HI and Clement Chang Sr. of Hilo, HI. Her sister Winne (David) Montfort of Miloli'i, HI. Brother In-Law Walter Denis of Honaunau, HI. 28 grandchildren, 1 hanai grand- child, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 hanai great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
