Alvin Kekolo "Inky" Kaio, 59, of Holualoa, Hawaii, a Hawaiian Dredging and Construction Co. construction laborer and a longtime lifeguard, died at Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Koolauloa, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Gayle-Jon; sons Duke P. and Pono Kaio and Kaena Kaenu; daughter 'Anolani; parents Jacob and Gwen; brothers Jacob, Ka'ala, David, John and Adam; sister Sista Choy; and six grandchildren. Celebration of life and scattering of ashes: 10 a.m. Saturday at Hukilau Beach, Laie. Reception to follow at the family taro patch in Laie. Casual attire. Loose flowers welcome. Kona services at a later date.
