79Emma Martines Gouveia Akiu, 65, of Naalehu, Hawaii, a Punaluu Rentals housekeeper, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Joseph Sr.; sons Dwayne, Paul, James and Rodney Kuahiwinui, and Joseph Akiu Jr.; daughters Nora Kuahiwinui and Emma-Salina Akiu-Cariaga; brothers Gary Sr., David and Alfred Gouveia, and Johnny Medeiros; sisters Alice Kawaauhau, Stella Kuahiwinui, Beatrice Freitas and Laura Ann Henriques-Duarte; 28 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Naalehu. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at the church. Mass: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Naalehu County Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship at Naalehu Community Center to follow burial. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
