CARRIE LEI MEI LING YOUNGCARRIE LEI MEI LING YOUNG Carrie Lei Mei Ling Young, 43, of Honolulu, went home to our Lord on December 18, 2014. She passed peacefully in her sleep. Carrie Lei was born on February 16, 1971 in Honolulu, and she attended Moanalua Elementary School from Kindergarten until the 5th grade. In 1982, she was stricken with Reyes Syndrome which left her with special needs for more than 3 decades. When she was well, Carrie was always a fun loving girl full of life who enjoyed hula, dance, Hawaiian food, and playing with her many friends. She will be fondly remembered by her friends and loved ones for her courage and her toughness throughout her lengthy illness. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunty, niece, cousin, and friend, and will be missed by all. Survived by her mother: Marjorie; brothers: Darrell (Jamie) and Kevin (Carolyn); nephews: Carson and Zachary; caregivers: Jennifer and Jennylynn Bringas, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends She was preceded in death by her father: Donald S.C. Young and grandmother: Margaret H. Ching. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m., Eulogy 10:30-11 a.m., with Mass 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Philomena Church at 3300 Ala Laulani St in Salt Lake; followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Although we miss her, we are happy that she is finally free from her earthly confinements, and knowing that Carrie is now with Dad and Popo with God in Heaven brings us great joy. We will forever cherish our memories of her.
