John Everett Bungard, also known as "J.E. Bungard," 71, of Mililani, a former pastor of three different congregations in California and Hawaii, University of Hawaii-West Oahu professor of religion and American studies, and an Army veteran, died in Mililani. He was born in Fort Riley, Kan. He is survived by wife Karin A. "Karina," son John Benjamin and sisters Janice Bungard, Pamela Phinney, Maureen Hugunin, Kathleen Martinez, Bonnie Jean Wellmeier, Connie Mitchell and Nancy Burns. Services: 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Wahiawa Christian Church, 1710 Royal Palm Drive. Burial: 1:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. No flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to J.E. Bungard Memorial Fund at Wahiawa Christian Church.
