KEITH KASPAROVITCHKEITH KASPAROVITCH Keith Robert Lopaka Kasparovitch, 64, of Honolulu, died December 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospice Nuuanu. Born and raised in Hawaii, Keith is remembered for his humor, generosity and engaging stories. A graduate of Punahou School where he excelled at football, soccer and baseball, his pitching prowess was legendary where he helped lead his team to a state championship in his senior year and along the way pitching several no hitters. After high school he went on to play baseball at Mesa Junior College and Colorado State. Returning to Hawaii he got his start in the food and beverage industry eventually meeting the love of his life, Jan Edwards. Moving to Bend, Oregon Jan and Keith together opened their first restaurant, Kasey's Texas Style Barbecue, and their catering business. At the restaurant, Hawaii visitors to Bend could always find a pot of rice in the back and on occasion some macaroni salad made local style. He and Jan raised two sons, Kasey and Korey right alongside them in the restaurant. Keith found time to teach and coach baseball for his boys. Moving back home he became one of his mother's caregivers for several years before her passing. Keith is preceded in death by his parents Viola and Leonard Kasparovitch, brothers Leonard Kaulana Jr. and Kevin Kenui. He is survived by his wife, Jan, sons Kasey Kekoa, Korey Kaleonui, brother Cass Kawehiho'oheno, sister Cathy (Larry) Arnold, nieces and nephews. Memorial services and celebration of life will be held at the Punahou School Chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Visitation at 9:00am. Service at 10:00am. Aloha attire.
