Danford Allan Kaimana Kahele, 67, of Honaunau, Hawaii, a former employee at Classic Resorts in Waikoloa, Kona Community Hospital emergency medical technician driver and an Army veteran, died in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by companion Vivian Kim; sons Paoe'ekalani and Keanuenue Kahele; daughters Tracy-lynn Ku, Huapala Johnson and Ku'ulei and Kamaile Kahele; brothers Charlie and Leroy Laniawe, Stanley and Henry Kauwe, and Richard Kauwe Jr.; sisters Sheldyn Baniaga, Helen, Grace and Julia Kauwe, and Laila Rogue; and six grandchildren. Visitation: 4 p.m. Friday at Lanakila Congregational Church, Honalo, Hawaii. Services: 5 p.m. Additional visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Hauoli Kamanao Congregational Church, Milolii, Hawaii. Services: 10 a.m. Scattering of ashes to follow at sea in Kapua (Onikeokeo). Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
