IGNATIUS "IGGIE' SAMUEL MCCABE HIPA
IGNATIUS IGGIE' SAMUEL MCCABE HIPA Retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, and Veteran, Ignatius "Iggie" Samuel McCabe Hipa of Kailua, Oahu died on January 16, 2015 at 82 in Kane'ohe. Born and raised in Honolulu, the eldest of nine, he set the example for many by leading a prestigious military career serving his country abroad. As a proud 1950 graduate of St. Louis College, Iggie remained faithful to his "Red and Blue" alma mater till the end. A loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, he touched the lives of so many with his vibrant smile and undying spirit. He shared his love for Hawaiian culture through language, songs and extensive research on genealogy. An admired and cherished Kupuna, Iggie is survived by his beloved wife Jacqueline "Jacque"; son Kirk (Lydia); hanai son Joshua K. (Courtney); granddaughter Jaylee; brother Benjamin K.; sisters Margaret Peters, Bernadette Borges, Ronni Pratt and an extensive 'ohana. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 4 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Kailua, mass at 5:30 p.m. Casual attire.
