DR. FRANK TILLMAN Age 91, peacefully passed away on December 27 in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Dr. Tillman's passion was to teach and write. Dr. Tillman had an outstanding career, teaching at Vassar College and at Hawaii Loa, HPU and UH. Dr. Tillman authored books on philosophy, wrote articles on film and created a wonderful film presentation that was enjoyed by many. Dr. Tillman continued to teach and write until shortly before he died. Dr. Tillman was very active with the Hawaii International Film Festival and the East-West Center. Dr. Tillman was very generous in his service to students and colleagues, advising and guiding many. Their lives are forever blessed. Dr. Tillman's contribution as a teacher and a writer will be greatly missed. Frank's other passion was sailing. He loved to take his family, friends and colleagues out in his sailboat on his beloved Kaneohe Bay. He loved to teach others how to sail and now many share his love of sailing. Frank is loved, admired and respected by all whose lives he touched with his profound intellect, great story telling, and kind heart. Frank was preceded in death by Ruth Tillman, his first wife and Merry Ann Jancovic, his second wife. He will be forever loved by his daughter Janine Tillman, and his loving presence in her life is deeply missed. A beautiful ceremony was held to scatter his ashes in his beloved Kaneohe Bay.
