73John Kauhane "Fat Boy" Kua Jr., 63, of Keaukaha, Hawaii, a construction contractor and member of musical group Lakou, died at home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Darolyn; sons John K. "Buddy" III and Jerred Kiawe; daughters Alithea "Tia" Walker, and Marlo, Sarah, Ka 'Ohelo Iwalani and Kawehi Moku; brothers Clayton, Jonathan and Christopher Michael; sisters Natalie Hanson, Noleen Mendes, Crystal Kua-Bikle, Kimberly Medeiros and Beverly Kua; hanai brother Clifton-John; hanai sister Melissa Kua-Nachor; and 14 grandchildren. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Christian Fellowship, 165 E. Kawili St., Suite B, Hilo. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. No flowers.
