ALVIN Y. NAKASHIMA Age 72, of Waipio Gentry, passed away in Kaiser Hosptial. He was born in Kailua. He was an Air Force Veteran with The Special Force Commando, a former Waikiki Outrigger Beachboy, a retiree of The Honolulu Advertiser, and a former member of the Koa Puna Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his wife Carol; son Adrian Kaleo (Lerma Jean) Nakashima; daughters Alexis (Jory) McElroy and Johanna "Jodi" (Justin Mercado) Nakashima; brothers Dr. Rolland (Rosemarie) Nakashima, Dr. George (Carol) Nakashima; sister Amy (Gene) Sakado; and sister-in-law Nancy (Budd) Kopman. He is also survived by 8 grand- children; Jehnna (Cameron) McKeague, Jaymilee, Joselyn "Kau'i", Amber Dawn, and Elijah McElroy, Eleu Williams, and Andrew and Ashlyn Nakashima; and one great granddaughter, Lilia McKeague. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on February 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Private burial at Punchbowl. Casual attire. No flowers.
