ABREU, MELVIN "BUDDY"
ABREU, MELVIN BUDDY ABREU, Melvin "Buddy", age 94, of Troy, MI, died January 7, 2015. Buddy was born in Makawao, Maui, HI. Buddy was a notable football player in high school (St Louis), college (UH), Army-Air Force during WWII playing for the military service football team in games with such notables as Sammy Baugh, Leon Hart, etc., and thereafter in professional football for the Hawaiian Warriors. He worked in insurance & sporting goods sales in Hawaii relocating to Michigan in 1995. He is survived by five children: Larry (Beth-Ann) Burgess, Liane (John) Spolyar, Lani Lippert, John Kimo (Joan) Abreu and Jacci Abreu; also survived by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He donated his body for medical science education in the great state of Michigan.
