Archibald Kong Chin Chow
ARCHIBALD KONG CHIN CHOW Archibald "Archie" Chow, 90, was born in Honolulu on 1/10/1925, died in Kaneohe 3/19/2015. Son of Chow Nim & Ida Ho Chow. Graduated St. Louis HS '45. Honorably discharged, U.S. Army 1951. He worked at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, for 35 years, beginning his career as a Pipefitter, progressing to Production Controller through a strong work ethic and keen intellect. Archie met the "love of his life," Jennie Lee at a Chinese Catholic Club picnic, and they were married on 9/1/1951, spending 63 years together raising four children. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, excelled at cooking and gardening and had the right tool for any project. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Lee Chow; son, Leslie Chow (Peggy Moore), El Portal, CA, daughters, Allison "Didi" Durkin (Jack), Fircrest, WA and Jennifer Chow, San Rafael, CA; brother, Fred Lum; grand- children: John (Trang), Colleen (Mike Peterson), Megan, Kevin and Daniel Durkin, Ian and Caitlin Chow-Ise; great-grand- son: Jack Durkin; The FamiLee and Ho Clan. He was predeceased by his son, Leland Chow. Archie was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Kailua for 56 years. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony's Church, 148 Makawao Street, Kailua followed by a reception. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony's School in memory of Archie Chow. A private interment will be held at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific at a later date.
