James Tetsuji Tanabe
March 19, 2015 James Tetsuji Tanabe, 83, of Honolulu, a retired juvenile probation officer supervisor for Cook County, Ill., Intensive Probation Unit, a former probation officer for the Hawaii state Alder Street detention home, and an Army veteran who served in the Military Intelligence Service in Japan, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Yoshie, sons James and John, daughter Patti Cheong, brother Henry, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Church of Honolulu, 2345 Nuuanu Ave. Aloha attire. No flowers. Donations suggested to Michael J.
