Herman Puou Kunewa
July 27, 2014 Herman Puou “Bully” Kunewa, 60, of Kona, a substitute teacher for Konawaena middle and high schools, a diploma and GED educator for Hawaii State Work Force Development and an educator for Waipahu Community School for Adults, died. He was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii, and was also a part-time shuttle driver, coffee farmer, freelance musician, former National Park Service ranger and fifth-degree black belt instructor for Soo Jung Lee Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts Association. He is survived by wife Iris N. Napaepae-Kunewa, sons Hiapo Kunewa and Puou Napaepae-Kunewa, sisters Annette Aquino and Marella Hak­kei, and three grandchildren. Services at a later date.
