74John Louis Lakes, 85, of Kapolei, co-owner and broker of Lakes Realty in California and a retired Air Force senior master sergeant, died in Kapolei, and his wife, Mary Pauline Lakes, 80, also of Kapolei, co-owner and broker of Lakes Realty and a romance novelist, died in the Queen’s Medical Center. He was born in McKees Rocks, Pa. She was born in Needles, Calif. They are survived by sons Michael, Daniel and Robert; daughter Jeanette Karas; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Wanda White, Patricia Wilkinson and Linda Mullen. Committal services: 3 p.m. Friday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
