Frederick August Lins Jr.
$nameFREDERICK AUGUST LINS JR. Age 72, of Honolulu, passed away on Thursday, April 9th in Hilo, Hawaii. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 28, 1943 and received his Bachelors Degree at the Ohio State University in Engineering Physics. Fred was a Captain in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. In Hawaii he worked at Computab during which he received his MBA from the University of Hawaii. In 1992 he started August Enterprises, a data storage systems distributorship that he had until 2008. He received his DM at the University of Phoenix in 2009. In 2001 Fred became a Practitioner at Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii, then a Visiting Lecturer at the Hanoi School of Business. In 2006 became an Adjunct Practitioner in Executive Education at Shidler and involved in VEMBA. He was an active Angel investor and a member of the Honolulu Elks Lodge. He was also a Bridge member of the Honolulu Navy League, a member of The Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association, and on the Kaimuki Neighborhood Board. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 6,2015 at 10 am at the Honolulu Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife Susan Lins of Honolulu; son August Lins of Hilo; daughter Mary Lee of New York; sisters Nancy Lins of Georgia, Susan (John) Anderson of Washington and Pat Brown of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
