73Chester Masaichi Hayase, 83, of Wailuku, a Maui County Parks and Recreation Department mechanic, died in Hale Makua, Kahului. He was born in Hana, Maui. He is survived by wife Charlotte; sons Craig and Cal; daughters Celia Shibata and Connie Nakabayashi; brothers Jack and Melvin; sisters Joan Nishino, Gertrude Akamine and Carolyn Hozaki; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
