LILLIAN MATSUKO KUROIWA
$nameLILLIAN MATSUKO KUROIWA Lillian Kuroiwa, 97 died peacefully at her home on April 14, 2015. Born in Kapaa, Kauai, she moved to Honolulu where she met and married Isaac Kuroiwa. A devoted store manager, she worked for Island Camera & Gift Shops for many years. Her love of the arts, music and dance brought her much joy. For almost 40 years she organized the annual Bon Dance at Shinshu Kyokai and Kaneohe Higashi Hongwanji. She was a founding member of the Iwakuni Odori Aiko Kai, Japanese Minyo group and taught dance at the Kaneohe Koolau Senior program. She is survived by Isaac Kuroiwa (pre-deceased); son, Melvin (Ann) Kuroiwa; daughters, Joyce (Walter) Morita (pre-deceased); Faith (Robert) Kaneshiro, Adele (Michael) Tasaka, 9 grand- children: Melanie Steiner, Ken Kuroiwa, Joy Kunishima, Debbie Wilgus, Colette Morita, Neil Kaneshiro, Robyn Furuta, Christopher Tasaka and Nick Tasaka and 9 great grand- children. Please join us in celebration of her life on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary. Visitation at 3:30pm, service to follow at 4:30pm. Casual attire.
