HENRY LEONG SOON Age 94, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed peacefully at home on April 26, 2015. Henry was born in Kaupo, Maui on May 17, 1920. Henry was predeceased by his father (Samuel Soon), mother (Mabel Chong), son Henry Jr., sisters Esther Young and Stella Conti. He is survived by wife Betty, sons: Dr .Gerald Soon (Charlene), Dr. Russell Soon, Rodney Soon (Cindy), Gary Soon (Janet), Howard Soon (Amelia) and step-son Ken Johns (Barbara), 18 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren, and sister Violet Chung (Bucky). Henry retired from Honolulu Freight Service as General Manager (1985-1995) and Matson Navigation Co. as Sr. Sales Representative (1942-1985). His life was full of passion working in the shipping business for many years. Henry's family wishes to thank his Caregivers Iva Pouli and Noa Taipaleti for the loving care they gave during the last month of Henry's life. Also, we would like to thank Island Hospice for their help and support during this difficult time. Henry's Celebration of Life will be held at Diamond Head Memorial Park on May 14. Visitation 11:00 AM, Service 12:00 PM. Aloha attire recommended. The family requests no flowers.
