VICTOR CARL BLOEDE
VICTOR CARL BLOEDE Carl Bloede, 97, passed away April 19, 2015 at his home in Kahala. He was born on July 17, 1917 in Woodwardville, MD to Carl Schon Bloede and Eleanor (Eck) Bloede. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen L (Miller) Bloede and sister Lisa (Bloede) Benson. Carl was a LCMD in the navy during WWII, where he met Ellen at Pearl Harbor. Carl graduated with an LLM from Georgetown University Law School. He held various consulting position before taking a permanent placement with the University of Hawaii as their in house legal council. He retired in 1982, but remained as their consultant for 10 years. Carl pursued many endeavors during his life such as participating in the TransAmerica bike ride from Virginia to California at 60 years old. His great accomplishment during his retirement was to publish his family history The Journey: Victor G. Bloede, His Forbears and Successors. He is survived by son Keoni; daughter Pamela (David) Yoshitake; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Private services and inurnment were held at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific.
