Haruo Taketa, 91, of Hilo, a retired state Department of Taxation employee and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Pohai Malama. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Fujie; sons Ted, Arthur, Robin and Jon; brothers Teruo and Fujio; sisters Chizuko Segawa; and nine grandchildren. Private services. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
