78Arpinia Taiping Sampaga, 92, of Hilo, a retired proprietress of Val's Inn in Pepeekeo, died at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Ookala, Hawaii. She is survived by sons Arthur and Paquito "Clyde"; daughters Estefania "Jane" Tam, Angeles Omaya, Veronica Kitayama, Petrona Valentino and Nedeen Calica; brothers Jose Quilet and Robert Escuadro; sisters Juanita Pascual and Betty Jane Macalino; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
