Charles Casimer Jess Jr., 69, of Papaaloa, Hawaii, a retired carpenter, a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War and a recipient of three Purple Hearts, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Arlington, Mass. He is survived by wife Billie; son James Lang; stepsons Kenneth Brashear and Andrew Miller; stepdaughter Christie Odom; brother Thomas; sisters Anita and Kathleen Jess, Debbie Sweeney, Jennifer Harrington, Virginia LaBaha, Pam McEntyre, Marilyn Mayberry and Lorraine Galendo; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services: noon Tuesday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
