FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

GORDON KWOCK WAI TAM
GORDON KWOCK WAI TAM 72, of Honolulu passed away on May 2, 2015 at Kuakini Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu and was retired from Aloha Airlines as a maintenance supervisor and was the proprietor of Tam's Shoe Repair which was passed down to him by his father, Joseph. He was a past president for various organizations such as Chung Shan Association of Hawaii, Kuo Min Tang Society of Hawaii, Kung Sheong Doo Society, Goo's Association and The Kaimuki Professional Business Association. He was a member of various clubs including Kwangtung Community Honolulu Lin Yee Hui and Kuo Min Tang Physical Culture Club, where he served in the past as senior instructor. The highlight of his week where he found the most enjoyment was with the Hui O Na Leo Hawaii Ukulele Club, where he enjoyed playing and singing Hawaiian songs on his ukulele and most of all, performing his hula dances. He is survived by his wife La Verne S.; son Garrett K.W.I. (Johanna Chock-Tam); brother Leonard and sisters Sheila Lum and Charlene Lau. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, service will be at 4:30 p.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. Aloha attire. No flowers.
