Ramon Cortez Navarro
RAMON CORTEZ NAVARRO Ramon Cortez Navarro peacefully passed away on May 20, 2015, at his home in Honolulu. He was born on January 3, 1932 in Magalang, Pampanga, Philippines. He is survived by his wife LaDonna Kay; son, Ray E.; daughter, Peggy Rose; step-children, Jerry, Kristie, and LaTitia; and sisters, Sister Aurelia, Corazon, Rosita, and Marieta. Our beloved Ray was a dedicated seaman. He served 30 years in the United States Navy reaching the highest honor of Master Chief Petty Officer. He devoted 83 years to his family here in Hawaii, in the Philippines, and on the mainland. Ray was a motorcycle enthusiast, boxing fanatic and experienced fisherman. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and supporter of St. Philomena Catholic Church. His charismatic personality will be remembered by all who knew him. Full military honors will be celebrated at 9:30am on Friday, June 5, 2015 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. It was his request to be buried at sea by his fellow servicemen. The family has asked for donations to the local VA Hospital in lieu of flowers.
