Hiroshi "Joe Stone" Matsunami, 91, of Kailua, a retired state Department of Education school principal and an Army veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 100th Infantry Battalion, during World War II, died at home. He was born in Haina, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Nellie, son Michael K., daughter Ann N., brother Takashi, sisters Dorothy Takeshita and Sachiko Okayama, and five grandchildren. Private services.
