DAWN DENISE HOBSON MIZUUCHI
DAWN DENISE HOBSON MIZUUCHI Dawn Denise Hobson Mizuuchi, aged 64, died peacefully and went to heaven on May 24, 2015 in her home after a lengthy battle with cancer and multiple sclerosis. Dawn was born on June 12, 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of the late Harold and Colleen Hobson and stepfather the late Duane Oakes. Dawn graduated from Kaimuki High School and later attended Leeward Community College and UH West Oahu, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Literature in December 2010. She was an active member and president of the Humanities Club where she went on trips to Paris, Italy and New York. She was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church. Dawn started working for Woolworths during her senior year of high school then for First Hawaiian Bank for 19 years. After her youngest son was born, she decided to stay at home to care for her children. When her children were in intermediate school she started working for American Savings Bank for about 10 years. Dawn was a caring wife and mother. She was a very active member in her community. She would volunteer and read books to the kids at Kanoelani Elementary School. She coached both of her children's soccer teams and was very active in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Organization for 11 years. Dawn is survived by her care-giving husband, Winters Mizuuchi; sons, Daniel Mizuuchi and Michael (Amber) Mizuuchi; her step daughter, Lisa (Ted) Peck; her step son Sean (Jocelyn) Mizuuchi; her mother, Colleen Oakes; her brothers, Michael (Rebecca) Hobson, Dana (Debra) Oakes and Mark Oakes; niece Elena Oakes; four grandchildren, Kara and Leilani Peck, and Keira and Evan Mizuuchi. Service to be held at the Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary on June 28, 2015. Viewing at 2pm. Service at 3pm. Aloha attire. No flowers please.
