Melvin Louis Barcai, 71, of Wailuku, Maui, an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, a Maui Rehabilitation Center supervisor, a bailiff and a retired Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. supervisor, died at home. He was born on Maui. He is survived by wife Verna; sons Dallas, Andrew, Mundy and David Barcai, and Jeremy Fernandez; daughters Regan Patao, Tina Luna, Candace Fernandez and Kielenani Barcai; brother Clifford; sisters Karen Gushiken and Beverly Barcai; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
