Donald Calvin "Duva" Vandaele, 83, of Mountain View, Hawaii, formerly of Waikiki, a retired Royal Hawaiian Hotel maintenance technician and a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War, died in Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in Monterey, Calif. He is survived by wife Elspeth; sons Donald Jr., Joey and Robert; brothers Roger and Edwin; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Homelani Memorial Park chapel. Inurnment services: 2 p.m. July 23 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. Casual attire.
