Loving uncle of Nancyanne Brown, Missy McGinn and Kimberly Zamora (Nelson). He is survived by his brother George Washington Mayer and was the brother of the late Ruth J. McGinn (John). Fred was the former Dean of the Faculty at the University of Hawaii West O'ahu. Services and interment were held privately.
