81Christian E. Bal, 91, of Kahului, a retired Army first sergeant, died at home. He was born in Wailuku. He is survived by wife Edith; sons Michael Oana and Darrell, Jayson and Donald Bal; daughters Ivy Ching, Rose Gomes and Eloise Bal; brother Velii Richardson; sister Nina Pew; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
