72Helen Alvarez Mendez, 91, of Honolulu, a retired forelady for Young Laundry, died at home. She was born in Lahaina. She is survived by son Raymond Jr., daughter Mildred M. Castillo, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Friday at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel.
