Ted Hiroki Kamikawa
TED HIROKI KAMIKAWA Ted Hiroki Kamikawa, age 90, of Waimanalo passed away on May 20, 2015, at Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 28, 1924 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is survived by son Kyle "Butchie" (Lynn) Kamikawa, daughters Lynn (dec. Melvin Sr.) Hoffacker and Myra (Gary) Tamanaha, brothers Francis and Thomas, sisters Mary Yamada and Carrie Fuchise, grandchildren Todd (Mia) Cummings, Reid (Suzanne) Cummings and Erin Kamikawa, and great grandsons Shea, Dylan, Noah, Quintin, Elijah and Winston Cummings. He is preceded in death by wife Lillian, daughter Nannette Cummings and brother Frank. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having enlisted in 1943 while still in high school. Upon being discharged he worked at Honolulu Rapid Transit (HRT) as an electrician, then as a bus driver and retired in 1985 from Mass Transit Lines (MTL) as the Chief Road Supervisor. Dad and mom loved to travel and visited the Far East, Europe, the mainland, Australia and New Zealand. After mom's passing in 1991, Dad continued to travel and visit with friends in Japan. Dad loved people, making friends wherever he went and making everyone laugh. To those who knew him well, he often surprised us with unique home projects. He will be truly missed by all his family and friends. Private services. The family requests no flowers or monetary offerings.
