JOAN HAUNANI KESNER ACKERMAN Joan Haunani Kesner Ackerman of Honolulu, Hawaii passed quietly away on July 21, 2015 at her current place of residence. She was 86 years old. Devoted Mother, Wife of Warren B. Ackerman, she was formerly a Bishop Museum Docent, Member of the Daughters of Hawaii, and enjoyed many earlier years as a member of the Junior League of Honolulu, Waialae Country Club and Outrigger Canoe Club. She was an avid Tennis player, book reader, cooking enthusiast, and Francophile. A graduate of Punahou School - class of 45, she savored her friendships, loved her family life and traveling to far off destinations. She attended USC for 2 years prior to marrying in 1950, and belonged to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at USC. She is daughter of Roy Clark Kesner Sr. and Thelma Kuulei Lewis of Honolulu. Grandparents: Blanche Dudoit and Charles Kuhio Lewis; Violet Armstrong and Wilfred Clark Kesner of California. Her brother Roy Clark Kesner Jr. and Sister in Law: Juliet Genevieve Beerman Kesner also of Honolulu Hawaii. Joan Haunani is survived by her Husband, Warren B. Ackerman, and children: Warren Brad Ackerman, Mary Jill Ackerman, Thomas Murrell Ackerman, daughter in law: Lorlee Strom Ackerman, granddaughters: Analee Kanani Ackerman, and Alana Grace Ackerman of Bend Oregon, and nephews Bill Kesner and Richard Kesner of Honolulu, HI. A Private Family Service is planned. In Lieu of flowers - donations can be made to Punahou School, Honolulu Hawaii.
