Kakuichi "Shima" Shimabukuro, 92, of Honolulu, a retired equipment specialist supervisor for the U.S. Army Depot in Sagamihara, Japan, and retired state Department of Transportation mechanic, died in Honolulu. He also was an Army vetern who served in World War II with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Company C, 100th Battalion. He was born in Waipahu. He is survived by son Alan T., daughter Susan M. Morita, brothers Bill K. Shima and Dick R. Ede, sister Bettie S. Reque and three grandchildren. Private services.
