David Mekelanaopuaonalani Kamalani, also known as "The Sarge" and "Mac," 89, of Waimea, Hawaii, a retired Honolulu Police Department solo bike sergeant and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Hale Ho'ola Hamakua. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son David K., daughters Alva K. Kamalani and Danielle L. Kamalani-Patoc, seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Service: 11 a.m. (also for his late wife Maude). Aloha attire. No flowers.
