Dr. Steven Scott Curry, PhD.
DR. STEVEN SCOTT CURRY, PHD. February 14, 1942 June 6, 2015 Resident of Honolulu. Born in Santa Monica, California to Maurice and Dorothy Curry, he was drawn to the ocean and surfing. That love inspired him to travel in his younger years to the beaches of Mexico and Hawaii before settling into his Professorship at University of Hawaii at Manoa. During his tenure, he enjoyed teaching Literary Criticism, Poetry, Dreams, and Children's Literature while authoring two books; Waxing the Lunar Mountain Apple and Dancing the Waves and other Poems. A war time Veteran of the US Army; he is survived by Donna Curry who cared for him through his wavering health, his daughters Alisa M. Rosillo of Concord, California, Amy E. Nunns of Morrow, Ohio, brother Dennis L. Curry of Paso Robles, CA, and 3 grand- children Leonardo, Maximillian and Abigail. He was predeceased by his sister Maureen Curry. His family will reunite him with his beloved ocean in a private celebration of life.
