Bard Robert Peterson, 74, of Makawao, Maui, an Army lieutenant who served in the Vietnam War, a paniolo at Kahua and Ulupalakua ranches and a retired Haleakala Ranch manager, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by brother Fred "Petey," sons Bard E. and Jeff, and two grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Sept. 18, Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao.
