ELIZABETH “ANNE” BROWN
ELIZABETH ANNE BROWN Aug. 02, 1926 - Feb. 26, 2015 Elizabeth "Anne" Brown of Gladstone, Oregon, passed away on February 26, 2015. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 2, 1926 to Arthur and Ethelyn Myhre. In 1947, Anne married Ralph Pierpont Brown, Jr. (known as "Red"). They raised four children in Kailua: Gary, Gail, Diane, and Keith. She taught for many years in private elementary schools on windward Oahu and retired to devote time to her painting career. Anne was a talented artist, skilled in both oil and acrylic. Using the name "Elika" she often sold her artwork at the Zoo Fence in Waikiki. Anne was a member of the Sweet Adelines International singing group, and acted in several local plays along with her husband. In 1982, Anne and Red moved to Oregon to be closer to their grandchildren and family. Anne is survived by her children, Gary (Maureen) and Diane; daughter-in-law, Janet Wells Brown; five grand- children, and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Red, in 2008, her brother Robert Myhre, and her children Gail Holland and Keith Brown. A burial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1st at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe.
