Susumu Yamagata, 91, of Waialua, a U.S. Postal Service retiree and an Army veteran who served in World War II with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 100th Infantry Battalion, died in Waialua. He was born in Waialua. He is survived by son Gerald Sato; daughters Geraldine Kawai, Gail Crandall and Gwen Lavarias; brothers Satoru and Setsu; sisters Louise Uchiyama and Jean Shimizu; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Private services.
