STEPHEN MILBANK SPALDING Was born on November 12, 1955, in Honolulu HI to Nancy and Charles Spalding and died on August 31, 2015 in Rutland VT, with family and friends at his side. He was a fifth generation descendant of Amos Starr and Juliet Montague Cooke. His maternal grandparents were Jeremiah and Katherine Milbank of New York. He attended high school at Deerfield Academy in MA where he captained the Squash Team. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. A lifelong athlete and racquet sports enthusiast, he enjoyed numismatics and collected fine art. He was known for his great sense of humor and quick wit. He is survived by a brother, Charles Cooke Spalding Jr, his step mother Joan Spalding, step brother Chip Westly, niece Kim Wasserman and nephews Tyler and Craig Spalding. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to The Boys and Girls Club or The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
