Patsi Pritchard McClaran
PATSI PRITCHARD MCCLARAN Patsi Pritchard McClaran died peacefully on August 30, 2015 with her husband and their children at her bedside. Patsi was born in San Francisco, California on May 18, 1926. She was the daughter of George P. J. and Victoria Emry Pritchard who moved to Honolulu when she was three months old. Patsi grew up in Honolulu attending Jefferson Elementary and Punahou schools until 1942 when she was sent to San Rafael, California to attend Dominican Convent High School from which she was graduated in 1944. After going to college for two years she worked in bookstores in Honolulu, New York and San Francisco. In 1955 Patsi married Navy lieutenant Stephen McClaran. For the next 15 years she led the life of a peripatetic Navy wife. In 1970 she, Stephen and their four children returned to Kailua, Hawaii. For the next 40 years she was associated with Honolulu Museum of Art as a volunteer, as an employee and as a docent. Patsi is survived by her husband Stephen and their four children: John (Amy) McClaran, Stephana Jacobson, Peter McClaran and Tori (Mark) Toles. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Alison and Emily McClaran, Hallie Ann Jacobson, Stephen and Jayna McClaran, and Katie Toles. The family would be honored if any donations given in Patsi's name are made to the National Parkinson Foundation--Hawaii Chapter or to the Honolulu Museum of Art. Private services have been held.
