John Charles Schroettner, 73, of Kailua-Kona, a construction superintendent and an Army veteran, died at home. He was born in Rabafuzes, Hungary. He is survived by wife Danielle, sons John and Paul, daughters Patricia Butts and Cathleen Horan, brother Helmut, sister Heide Thomma and eight grandchildren. Mass: 9:45 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Honaunau, Hawaii. Inurnment: noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery, Kailua-Kona. Casual attire.
