BETTY ANN LYMAN KEALA
BETTY ANN LYMAN KEALA Betty Ann Lyman Keala, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 30th from natural causes. Betty Ann was born April 14, 1931 in Hilo, Hawaii and was the daughter of Senator Richard Ka'ilihiwa Lyman and Beatrice Ida Culman. She is survived by her husband Francis A. Keala, her daughter Frances Ann (Keala) Rothwell and her sons John and Mark as well as her brother Carl Lyman. She is also survived by four grandchildren and a great grandson. She graduated from Punahou in 1948 and received a Bachelor's and Masters of Science degree from the University of Hawaii and co-founded Pacific Computer Associates in the early 1980's. She was very active in the Hawaii community and served on the board as president and trustee for many local organizations. She followed in her father's footsteps in giving back to the land and people of Hawaii. In 1994, she helped publish "Ho'omana'o: Thoughts by Richard Lyman," a compilation of her father's papers. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty Ann may be made to Hawaiian Mission Houses, Honolulu, HI.
